The best feeling is when your previous clients return year after year for us to document their growing family. Even better is when they have more babies and we get them in the studio for another newborn photography session. We swear, just yesterday we photographed this little girls newborn session. Today she has a new baby brother and she will be turning 5 in a few short months. Where does the time go!?!?!
We had so much fun in studio! We picked out dresses from the studio closet and changed up our outfits. Are toddlers or children supposed to be excited to get their photographs taken? Well no, not normally but that is how we are different. There is no pressure here and we always have toys and coloring to let them settle in first. Just like we work with newborns natural rhythms for our newborn photography sessions, practicing safe and gentle techniques for posing, we do the same with siblings. It’s important for them to feel engaged and comfortable so we get to capture their authentic selves just as they are today. And those wonderful faces that are indicitive of their personalities will be cherished for yearss to come.
It is the absolute best when clients come in for a maternity session, have a lot of fun in the relaxed and care free environment and then the kids are excited to come back once their new sibling is born. They have already been here, had a great time and we are not introducing yet another new obstacle in their life to go along with their new baby sibling. We all know sometimes they are obsessed with them and sometimes they want nothing to do with them. This is all a process. We get them excited and set them up for success so they know what is next “You get to sit in this special chair and hold baby brother once he arrives!”
Meet baby Zachary! Little baby fingers and little baby toes. How peacefully they sleep and crack those little side smiles. Relish in all the newness. We may be biased here but is there anything better than photographs that freeze time that you get to keep forever and ever.
Time is so fleeting. We will blink and baby Zachary will be back in the studio for his one year old photography session!
